Our Land Acknowledgement

Peer Tree Partners acknowledges that our operations reside on the ancestral homelands and unceded waters of the Clatsop, Kathlamet, and Chinook Peoples, who have lived along the lower Columbia River (Wimahl) and the Pacific Coast since time immemorial.

We recognize that the land we occupy in Clatsop County was taken through colonization, systemic displacement, and broken treaties. Today, many descendants of these traditional guardians are citizens of the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde, the Confederated Tribes of Siletz Indians, and the Chinook Indian Nation.

As a business community, we understand that a spoken or written acknowledgment is only a small first step. True reconciliation requires a continuous commitment to accountability, learning, and systemic change.

Our Ongoing Commitments:

  • Education: We commit to educating our team about local Indigenous histories, contemporary tribal sovereignty, and ongoing resource management struggles in the Pacific Northwest.

  • Economic Support: We pledge to support Indigenous-owned businesses, vendors, and creators in our region.

  • Stewardship: We strive to align our environmental practices with the principles of traditional ecological knowledge and mindful caretaking of the coastal estuary.

We express our deep respect and gratitude to the Elders past, present, and emerging who continue to steward this ecosystem
